Well this is a tricky one for me to think about, because I don't think I have ever had any real aspirations...I have never known what I wanted to do career wise. I am still struggling with that thought now. I used to hate the dreaded classes where we would have to chose a career path from some internet questionnaire...I would always end up with a very odd list!
I remember saying once when I was very young I wanted to be an artist (whilst drawing something to send to Blue Peter), which my Dad laughed at a lot and said they only make money once they are dead. Fairly true comment there, I didn't understand him at the time though!
I also remember drawing myself in wedding dresses a lot even at the tender age of 9 when I had a crush on some boy in my year (who was a bit of the bad boy of the class...hmm how things change)! And the one thing I know I have always been certain on is having children, at least two and hopefully one of each sex (will have to wait on that one and see what the future brings). I actually remember reading my mum's pregnancy book once when I was young just because I was sort of fascinated with it all (I know strange child or what)!
But hey at least that is slightly more aspirational than my youngest brother when he was about 4 and said he wanted to be a dog when he was older...
I'm also in the position where, when people say "what do/did you want to do when you grow up?", I have no answer. I do have aspirations but that dream career path is still a mystery to me.
ReplyDeleteIf my 2 year old could say what he wants to be when he grows up, I suspect it would be a cat judging by the yowling I hear down the baby monitor in the mornings!
Nothing wrong with wanting to be a dog ;)

@ the last slayer: Lots of people find it really odd that I have never known what to do- ahh well maybe one day we will find it out, you never know!
ReplyDelete@thebabywife: Haha, as long as he doesn't put that of his college application at the end of the year.
I know what you mean about the school internet/paper career things. I got told that I should be a history teacher (not something I was studying) or a postwoman...mmm, not quite where I was planning to go with my prospective uni education.
ReplyDelete@ Emma- Haha glad it wasn't just me then! Quite glad I decided against uni in the end!
