Ding dong the bells are going to chime!

Very excited to say that we have set a date for our wedding!!

The countdown is on for the 9th of August this year!

After being engaged for 4 1/2 years it is so nice to be able to tell people to save the date. In December we fell in love with our reception venue, an old house, decorated recently so it's modern with old twists.

A large garden, even when a large marquee is up.

Not too fancy, but fancy enough.

Hopefully a hog roast or a BBQ.

It was a bit hairy trying to find a date to work with the church (for a moment we didn't think we could get one in the summer holidays which is much easier for lots of my family working in schools), every date we had pencilled in was a date the vicars were on holiday, and the 9th they already have a wedding despite only having a few booked all year!

Luckily we could have a 3pm wedding which works well as we may just invite everyone to the reception as there won't be two sittings for food.

Now that both the venues are booked the ball needs to start rolling on everything else...I'm a bit of a last minute organiser so it's much harder for me than it sounds!

Now does anyone have a tip to settle nerves for the big day as I am already getting butterflies!

  1. Wow, all very exciting! We had a 5 o'clock wedding for that very reason, we just had a big buffet. Good luck! I can't think of anything to settle the nerves really. I found that as I was making everything myself, I got so caught up in making all the little bits, I didn't have time to worry about much else.

Had a bit of a double take when I saw your save the date though. Ours was very similar, but we're Danielle & Jamie :-)

    1. Yes it seems logical to do that doesn't it! Planning on making a lot of things too I think once the ceremony part is over I should be ok!

Oh really, that is funny! x

  2. How exciting. Now that's a project for 2014! The nerves will come and go I think just focus on the positive stuff, like choosing a dress, the type of cake you'd love (are you going to make it?) and try and push any nerves to the back of your mind. Remember - on the day everyone will be rooting for you and just so happy to be there. Looking forward to reading all about it. x

    1. Certainly is turning into a bit of a project-turns out it's not going to be as much of a small affair as we'd have thought! I think I am going to make the cake but get a friend of James' mum to decorate it all for me! Yes I need to try and not think about the nerves and keep busy! x
