'mas, mas tree'

Encase you are wondering that's what my 2 year old calls the Christmas tree!

Last night we got the real Christmas tree in, up the stairs (pine needles everywhere and still needing hoovering as I couldn't be bothered with doing that last night)! And into our lounge, after lots of hacking away from my partner it was finely the right size and the trunk fit into the pot we have for it. We may as well have cut our own tree down, the mess my partner made and seeing how much he had already chopped off in the garage beforehand too!

Our little boy was so excited jumping around the lounge shouting 'mas mas tree' throwing his teddy, baubles, tinsel in the air in excitement! Was very cute if not a little stressful...

It was so funny when we asked if he wanted to put a bauble on the tree, he promptly lobed the bauble he was holding which hurled into the tree ...and somehow did get lodged between the branches rather than falling right off. His confused look as me and my partner were in fits of giggles only made us laugh more.

It will be a miracle if the tree lasts until Christmas...this morning there was a fresh pile of needles where he had bashed a few baubles!

But isn't that what Christmas is all about?

Loved waking up and walking into the lounge to be greeted to the Christmassy smell of the tree...here's hoping the bauble bashing will just be a novelty for the next few days! :)
The tree (it looks a lot better in person)!

  1. Hi Danielle, I have a nearly 2 yo and after reading your post, wish we'd gone for a real Christmas tree. Yes, the needles thing is very annoying but it brings back lots of good childhood memories and seems more Christmassy somehow.

  2. The first tree ended up being a disaster though so can see why people don't always buy real ones! I just love the smell of real ones. Hope you have a nice Christmas :)

My 3 yr old said to me very sternly as she left for nursery today "Mummy don't tidy the tree away while I am at nursery please" !

I'm many things but I'm not the Grinch!!!

A lovely looking tree - Merry Christmas!

That sounds very cute too, love their own ways of saying words. Haha, that would be a lot of effort to go through to take it down the next day! Merry Christmas to you too!

@ Here come the girls, there is still plenty of time (at least that's what I keep telling myself when it comes to the Christmas shopping anyway)!
