Not 'just a mum'

Many times I have been asked what I do, my reply "just a mum".

People without kids think that being a stay at home Mum is an easy ride, and pretty much is me playing at home with my kids, with there being not much else to me, but there is...

...and this is me.

I am: the big sister to two brothers, a daughter, a niece, the eldest Grandchild, a friend, a Godmother, a cousin, a fiancĂ©e, a sister and daughter in law to be.

I like: Crafts of most descriptions. CAKE-both baking and eating! The satisfaction of a clean house (for all of 2 minutes). Team sports-especially netball (although need to get into again after slacking off to have a baby ;) Unexpected texts.

I love: A brisk, peaceful walk in the sunshine with the cool breeze blowing through your hair. My boys smiles. Snuggles in bed. Massages. Cornwall. Honey comb ice cream. Sunsets. Family time. 5 minutes peace.  Someone else doing the cooking. Being spoilt.

I dislike: Hospitals. Never having enough money. Waiting rooms. Confrontation. Being lied to. Heights. Unknown dogs off leashes. Bananas. The smell of sugar puffs. Cooked breakfasts. The other half working so much. My personality. The fact my other half forgot the engagement ring at our special place-oops!

You'll often find me: a bit stressed. Running late. Juggling too may tasks at once. Procrastinating. ON THE LAPTOP WHEN I SHOULD BE DOING BETTER THINGS. Worrying. Cuddling a baby. Cooking the dinner. Making a mess with the boy. Snuggling up to the other half in the evening. Taking photos for future memories.

I want to: find something that really does define me from being 'just a mum', I want to find a vocation, I want to help people, I want the world to be a better place. I WANT TO FIND ME AGAIN!

Linking up with some great reads over at Three years and home, why don't you link up too?

I am me

I REALLY struggled finding photos without the boys in too!

  4. Honeycomb ice cream is divine, particularly served on hot, sweet waffles. Yum! I find the I can't be too far away from my iPhone. I miss it and spend far too long looking at it (and giving my toddler a sly minute to draw on the wall).

Thank you so much for joining in with this. It's been fab to read more about you.
